Micro Stories are all under 500 words. They have been inspired by a specific prompt, usually a visual image.
The Lamppost
December 2021
It was their lamppost.
The lamppost where he first saw her.
The lamppost beside their first date.
The lamppost where he proposed.
They left ornaments every year in memory; a tradition of gratitude and love.
Christmas morning he brings ornaments. He remembers her and the life the lamppost brought them.
The Candle
December 2021
"A candle in the window on the eve of Yule will draw spirits."
She knew the legends. A dark home on the eve of Yule was a safe home.
She lit a taper at the window.
This Yule, she would be reunited with him. This Yule, she'd bring him home.
